Grid-connected solar and billing
On-grid solar serves property loads during daylight and can export surplus through an approved bidirectional meter. At other times, electricity is imported from the grid.
The financial result depends on generation, self-consumption, tariff, settlement rules and fixed charges. Net metering does not by itself guarantee a zero electricity bill.
Documents and approvals
Applications commonly require consumer, connection, property and technical system information. The serving distribution company may conduct feasibility and post-installation inspection before commissioning.
- Consumer number and recent electricity bill
- Applicant and premises documents
- Approved equipment details
- Protection, earthing and single-line diagram
- Testing and commissioning records
Practical project sequence
Start with roof and load assessment, then confirm feasibility before procurement. Keep system capacity aligned with electricity use and sanctioned load.
Current requirements should be verified for the specific Haryana location and connection category.
